When René Graff founded the estate in 1940 he replaced the Chasselas variety by other Burgundy grapes, the local authorities at the time were irritated. Since the Satyr estate cultivates the art of subversion, like Dionysus and his Satyr. Today the winery is mostly dedicated to Pinot Noir and Gamay. Combining mythology and artistic creation (with beautiful labels), the estate produces 6 different wines, including the indomitable "neither God nor Master", a different wine each year.
